p114 You will have succeeded in structuring a renewed sense of inner trust, built in increments, upon a foundation of growing experiential evidence that, despite the accelerating momentum of the changes all around you, you have become “the rock” upon which all else rests. All the trappings of external security, upon which you once relied unquestioningly, have all been shaken or destroyed or abandoned. The relevance of much that was once considered irrefutable is now in question. The scripted role that you seized, in the idealized passion of youth, is now visibly flawed. In the aftermath of all the disillusionment—of the fragility of all that you presumed was etched in stone—you unearth your own eternal essence.
